Historical Takoma

What is now Takoma DC and Takoma Park, MD began as the late 19th century railroad stop and Victorian suburb of Takoma Park. Takoma Park includes areas of the District of Columbia and Montgomery County in Maryland. A portion of Takoma Park originally resided in Prince George's County in Maryland, but that area recently joined Montgomery County.
Takoma Park includes Sligo Creek (where a resort once stood) and the Washington Adventist Hospital. Takoma has a great diversity of homes and development from Victorian mansions to bungalows to brick ramblers.
